Length: 35 Min
Being involved with my cameras in many yachting events as well as building projects the pictures presented to me have by far exceeded any imagination I had when I started documenting the renaissance of the classic yachts more than a decade ago. ”The Golden Age” was history – lost and unbelievable, nearly a myth. Suddenly, it has all come back – we witness it in all it’s many aspects – we are even beyond ”The Golden Age“!
The film shows moments from spectacular events like the ”America’s Cup Jubelee” at Cowes 2001 to quiet moments of light reflections on deck being tied to the Swedish rocks, from traditional open boatbuilding to the launching of the breathtaking replica of the famous 140´ schooner Westward and the turning of the underwatersection of the newbuilt 1000 tons schooner ”ATHENA” at Royal Huisman Shipyard.
